Boy Meets Girl, a popular youth and junior contemporary sportswear line, was purchased in July 2010 by The Moret Group, an apparel design, sourcing, and marketing company founded in 1975. In recent years, the firm has transitioned to being a leading supplier of clothing and accessories for men, women, and children. The deal happened under the advisement of Gary Herwitz and CoMetrics Partners, LLC.
As managing partner, Mr. Herwitz leads CoMetrics in its mission to provide strategic leadership and vision for middle-market companies to maximize profitability and streamline technology, finance, and operations processes. As the Moret Group’s investment adviser, CoMetrics structured the transition for an undisclosed purchase price, although market sources estimate a cost of approximately $12 million. Boy Meets Girl will remain targeted to its young customers, and it will expand in the area of e-commerce. The Moret Group also markets successful brands such as Hello Kitty, Danskin, and Everlast.
