The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University has a long tradition of providing a top-tier education in business administration in upstate New York. Founded over a century ago, it was only the 16th university to receive accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and as a result of its commitment to excellence it was ranked in the top 6% of all AACSB-accredited schools nationwide.

In a survey conducted by Value Colleges, researchers assessed major factors regarding quality of education, cost, and return on investment after graduation. Whitman placed 43rd out of a group of 727 business colleges. In addition, Whitman has received national recognition for its graduate programs, placing among the top 40 for its master of finance degree in The Financial Engineer, and ranking 17th for its entrepreneurship and emerging enterprises (EEE) program, as evaluated by U.S. News & World Reports. Further, Whitman earned second place in the Military Times national survey of business schools.
